Yesterday, I was elected to serve as the next chair of the Democratic National Committee. I am honored to continue this fight alongside you, Jason -- not to mention Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats from state houses to the Senate.
I've been a state party chair, worked on Capitol Hill, partnered with grassroots organizations, and most recently run for Senate. Those experiences taught me to move forward and do good -- but they also taught me that as Democrats, we often invest more in our candidates than we do in the infrastructure they need to win.
I know we can continue to win at every level in every state -- just look at Georgia! But to make it happen, we must come together and invest early in our grassroots infrastructure, not just our candidates. We have to support deep, authentic organizing all year round and sustain the digital tools and technology that made us so successful last cycle.
Donate $15 now so we can begin that work together today. Your generous support will not just help defend our Democratic majorities but build on the long-term strength of our party in the years to come. As the son of a single teenage mom in Orangeburg, South Carolina, my grandparents raised me. I knew what it was like to choose between paying the electric bill and putting food on the table. I knew what it was like to eat cereal with water because we couldn't afford milk.
I've dedicated my life to making things just a little bit easier for folks like my grandparents -- and I'm going to bring those memories and values with me to my work at the DNC.
We were able to maintain our House majority and narrowly win back the Senate this year because of donors like you -- thank you. But these slim majorities mean that our lasting strategy cannot be swooping in every few years and placing our bets on a new candidate winning -- we must build on Chair Perez’s work to ensure long-term, sustainable power everywhere we want to win. That’s why I have to ask:
Will you make a $15 investment in the success of the Democratic Party today? Whatever you’re able to give -- whether it’s $1, $5, or even $15 -- will go an incredibly long way in ensuring Democrats can win everywhere in the years ahead.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. Change has to be systemic, it has to be long term, and that’s what I’m committed to. I hope you’ll join me in making that change.
Let’s get to work,
Jaime

P.S. We fought hard to narrowly win back our Democratic majorities. As the new DNC chair, I am committed to protecting those and building on those majorities in all 50 states in the years ahead. Will you join me? Make a $15 donation today to invest in the Democratic Party’s long-term success. |
