It's been more than 100 years since the House has failed to elect a speaker on the first ballot.
FIRST: Kevin McCarthy failed to secure votes to become speaker of the House on the first ballot.
THEN: Kevin McCarthy failed to secure votes, AGAIN.
AND THEN: Kevin McCarthy failed to secure votes for the speakership a third time.
AND THEN: A FOURTH TIME…FIFTH…NINTH…FOURTEENTH.
You get the point. After 15 ballots, House Republicans finally managed to elect a speaker and leader of their party.
This has not happened in more than 100 years, Jason.
It's as clear as day: Republicans aren't working to deliver for the American people. They're more interested in fighting each other and for their own political ambitions.
