Jason, as a farm kid, the summer meant long days working hard in the field under a hot summer sun. We'd be up early fixing broken equipment, picking rocks, you name it. I was never short of a long to-do list. Nowadays, I'm grateful for any chance to get out in the field. My farmwork keeps me grounded and connected to the land my grandparents homesteaded more than 100 years ago. But here's the part about this time of year that I don't like: the dreaded "summer slump." It's the time when campaigns can experience a nosedive in fundraising because folks stop paying attention to emails as they enjoy the warm months. That means we have to work twice as hard just to hit our benchmarks. Before I get into it, can I count on you to split a $10 donation between my reelection campaign and the Democratic National Committee to help us get ahead of a fundraising slump? The summer is a notoriously difficult time for fundraising, which is a big problem since the money we raise now will determine the scope of our campaign later on in the cycle. And as one of the most vulnerable senators running for reelection, this comes at a particularly bad time. To put it briefly, Jason, we can't afford to let the "summer slump" win. There's too much on the line. Can I count on you to step up today and split a donation of any size between my reelection campaign and the DNC to help us get ahead of a "summer slump"? Your donation will be put right to work to support my campaign and the campaigns of Democrats running up and down the ballot this year and next. The summer's just getting started, and we have a lot of work to do, but with you on this team, I know we can win. Thanks for the support, Jon Jon Tester U.S. Senator, Montana |
