  | | Howdy Jason, This note will be a little longer than normal, but I promise that it's worth it! By now, I am sure you have seen the video, but you probably don't know much about how that mug landed in President Biden's hand.
On my very first day of work, I said that I wanted to make color changing mugs happen, but I could never have anticipated how many people it would take to make it real. In June, our team of unionized designers started mocking up the base graphic. And while that was happening, our product masterminds started running science experiments to figure out the magic sunglasses.
  Eventually, we figured it all out and made our first prototype that worked! The only problem was, we needed a LOT more of them -- thousands more.
Making the number we needed required a print shop in Texas to find this machine and a father and son to drive it to them all the way from Connecticut.
 
When it arrived, we had to hope it worked right: We couldn't tell for certain just yet because the warehouse was so hot, the ink was invisible.
 
Now, each time I have a cup of joe with my very own magic, color-changing mug, I am reminded of the talent and grit it took to make it real!
