Throughout Black History Month and all year long, Democrats celebrate the contributions of Black Americans past and present. Both our party and our nation have come so far standing on the shoulders of giants like Fannie Lou Hamer, Jesse Jackson, and Shirley Chisholm who paved the way for so many.
This month, we champion members of our party who have made history in the last election, like Wes Moore, the first Black governor of Maryland; Summer Lee, the first Black congresswoman from Pennsylvania; House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, the first Black lawmaker to lead a party in Congress; the list goes on. We honor these firsts, and so many others at the state, federal, and municipal levels who reflect the diversity of our nation.
It is because of your commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ballot in every ZIP code that we continue to celebrate the wins and progress Democrats have made. To further your advocacy on behalf of issues that represent diverse communities and Democratic values, we would love for you to join the DNC Coalitions Team.
As we reflect on the contributions of Black Americans, we hope you'll join us in recommitting ourselves to combating injustice at its source, ensuring everyone has a seat at the table and standing up for what is right.
Happy Black History Month, Jason.
