Jason, you're an important member of our party, so I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on the DNC's investments thus far in the midterm election cycle.
I hope you'll read on to learn what the DNC is doing right now to strengthen our party and build the necessary infrastructure to help elect Democrats from the school board to the Senate -- and then, if you're able, donate $7 to help ramp up our organizing, voter protection, and data and tech programs that will be instrumental to victory this year and beyond.
Doubling Down on the 57-State-and-Territory Strategy
As Chair Harrison likes to say, no state is a red state if we invest early enough. When we put in the work early, we can win anywhere -- so the DNC is investing and organizing everywhere. That means:
-
Making a historic agreement with state parties, including over $23 million in direct investments to state parties and grassroots infrastructure during the 2022 election cycle.
-
Creating technology that's built to last. Last year, the DNC invested $20 million in the data, infrastructure, and tools needed for effective, secure, and efficient voter and volunteer outreach no matter what office a candidate is running for.
-
Sustaining long-term programs in traditionally Republican states. The first-of-its-kind "Red State Fund" is a $2 million investment that has helped educate and mobilize voters in Alaska, register voters in South Carolina, combat GOP misinformation in Indiana, and more.
Electoral Investments in Partnership with State Parties
We've made it a priority to partner with state parties at every opportunity this cycle, including:
-
Taking the fight to states across the map. There are no "off years" at the DNC, so in 2021, we invested to help elect Democrats at the state and local levels, helped lift Melanie Stansbury to victory in New Mexico's special election, recruited volunteers to counter the California gubernatorial recall, and more.
-
Investing to help build coalitions and organize in communities of color, that means scaling up our presence and getting more boots on the ground in critical states, including with communities of color across Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and more.
-
Expanding the electorate and protecting the right to vote. We're helping state parties use tools like canvassing, mail, and phone and text chase to get folks registered across the country. In addition, we announced a major expansion of the 'I Will Vote' initiative to address and overcome efforts to make voting more difficult and burdensome.
Jason's Role In Our Midterm Strategy
We're making commitments and contributions to states for party-building and electoral programs, and supporting staffers on coordinated campaigns and state parties across the country. And we need to keep it up, Jason.
These plans are critical to Democratic victory in 2022 and beyond -- and they will only be made possible by grassroots supporters like you chipping in what you can, when you can.
So please, make a $7 donation to the DNC today so that together, we can continue to make smart and strategic investments that will lift our candidates to victory come Election Day.
Let's get to work,
Alana
