Happy Mother's Day, Jason! I wanted to take a moment to share a few reflections with you as we celebrate this day and honor the mothers and mother figures in our lives. My mom was young when she had me. But I've never seen someone work so hard and do so much after starting with so little. She kept me happy when I was sad and kept me focused on my purpose -- doing good! My grandma helped her raise me, and she was always teaching me and showing me how to be the best Jaime I could be. She is the rock and heart of our family. I'm also extremely fortunate to be married to a modern-day Renaissance woman. My wife's dedication to our two sons is unmatched -- all while she succeeds in her own independent endeavors: She is a scholar, artist, author, amazing mother and wife, and one heck of a cake and cookie decorator! And she has a heart of gold. My family's spirit of decency and selflessness guides me every day. They're a huge part of the reason that I'm working so hard here at the DNC to help folks get ahead, as we fight for families across the country. I firmly believe that no matter what your family looks like, everyone should have a fair shot. Families like yours and mine are why we're working every day to elect leaders who will fight for accessible, affordable child care and health care, who will defend key services like Social Security and Medicare that families across the country rely on, and who will prioritize creating good-paying jobs. Uplifting all American families is what our party's all about. So today, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this work -- not just this Mother's Day, but every day. It really means the world.
