While I may be the only U.S. senator to have given birth while serving in office, I am hardly alone in juggling the demands presented by parenthood.
My experience as a working mother has fundamentally shaped my perspective in Congress and made me a tireless advocate for working families. Because parenthood isn't just a women's issue, it's an economic issue, too.
That's part of the reason why I am so excited about President Biden and Vice President Harris's American Families Plan. The plan will expand access to affordable child care, ensure all 3 and 4-year-olds can go to pre-K, create a comprehensive national paid leave program and make two years of community college free for all Americans.
We must get this plan passed in Congress -- but I am confident we are more than capable. I'm still in awe of the work this team put in last year to elect President Biden and Vice President Harris -- making calls and texts, mobilizing voters nationwide, and chipping in when you could to turn the tide of our country for the better.
Not only are we now on track to beat this virus, we have the chance to build back better than before through legislation like the American Families Plan. Once again, our government is working for families. For mothers. And for so many Americans. And we cannot take that for granted for a single second.
Thank you, Jason.

P.S. Working families deserve better than the status quo, and we can get it for them by passing legislation through the halls of Congress like President Biden's American Rescue Plan. Getting bold legislation like this is essential to building back better, but it isn't easy. So, I'm asking for your support: Will you donate $7 today to help elect more Democrats who will fight for working families? Whatever you're able to give will go a long way in protecting and expanding our majorities in the coming years.
