I recently had the honor of filing the community signatures necessary to submit my candidacy for re-election.
We submitted over 10,000 signatures: the highest number we have ever received across The Bronx and Queens.
Now, we’re headed into our June 23rd primary election.
I’m facing two Democratic opponents, and I’m counting your support to continue fighting for working people everywhere.
Over the past eight years, we’ve proven what’s possible when working people come together and organize.
We grew the Green New Deal, taxed the rich, and brought our progressive movement from coast to coast.
My opponents have spent over $13 million to defeat us in recent years. Big money interests are scared because they know I’ll never stop taking them on and being a brawler for the working class.
When you take on corporate power, when you refuse to play by the traditional campaign playbook, they come for you.
We have to expect that kind of spending again this year.
I’ve never campaigned like the establishment says you’re supposed to. I don’t spend my days calling donors like most members of Congress.
We’re going to continue creating a new way to do politics rooted in community organizing and building a movement of working-class voices that went unheard for far too long.
I’m not going to change my priorities or how I campaign in this election. But that means I’m counting on grassroots supporters like you to keep me in this fight.
