Exciting news! We’ve officially kicked off our annual backpack drive where we distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to kids across NYC:
This is Alexandria’s eighth back-to-school drive. In that time we’ve teamed up with NYC public housing developments, community organizations, and more to give thousands of kids a strong start to the school year with pencils, pens, crayons, erasers, notebooks, rulers, and a backpack.
We’re hoping to purchase one more round of backpacks and supplies before this year’s drive ends. We’ve run the numbers and it costs our team $8-$10 to put together one backpack filled with school supplies.
Your donation today will mean a child without school supplies can start the year with their head held high.
