Last week, Democrat Bobbi Boudman won her race for a state legislative seat that Republicans won handily in 2020 and 2024. But this is no anomaly. Voters are sending a clear message. Democrats across the country have been winning seismic victories like this one every month — heck, nearly every week — for the past year. In Arkansas, Alex Holladay won a state house seat held by Republicans for 12 years. In Texas, Taylor Rehmet flipped a 30-year GOP stronghold in a Trump +17 district. In Louisiana, Chasity Verret Martinez defended a tough seat in a Trump +13 district. In total, we've flipped 28 state legislative seats since Trump retook office, while Republicans have flipped zero. None of this happened by accident. At the DNC, we've made it our job to win from the ground up. We've organized, mobilized, and fought for these victories alongside incredible Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. So, here's our own message to Donald Trump and MAGA: no Republican seat is safe. From now until November, Democrats are going to keep our foot on the gas and compete everywhere. Our mission is to retake Congress and take back power across the country. Rep.-elect Boudman's campaign proved what Democrats have been demonstrating over and over since Trump took office: While he golfs and builds ballrooms, we're going to improve lives. Americans see Democrats freezing utility rates, taking on affordable housing, and standing up to Trump's tariff taxes on everything from groceries to clothes. And when you show up to actually deliver for people, you can win everywhere. Even in ruby-red districts. But here's the thing, Jason: If we want to keep winning like this all over the country, we need to continue expanding our campaign infrastructure. From organizing to voter registration, we need to build the biggest midterm operation in DNC history to take back Congress.
