That's why Alexandria and Bernie Sanders introduced legislation today to end construction on any new data centers until federal AI regulations are in place.
These big tech companies are not paying for their own energy infrastructure. While the American people's energy bills are skyrocketing in order to pay for A.I. data centers, big tech continues to demand more.
More data centers, more energy, more data collection, more American jobs replaced by A.I. — all on the feet of the American people to pay.
But Alexandria came to Congress to legislate in a new way: by really centering everyday people and the policies that benefit their lives.
