Back in March, we sued the Trump administration under the Freedom of Information Act to demand transparency about their plans for the midterm elections after the Trump administration flat-out ignored our FOIA requests. Now, the Trump administration and their lawyers are trying to dodge accountability again, filing a motion to strike parts of our lawsuit. They’re refusing to fully answer our suit and calling our allegations “fanciful” and “impertinent.” I want to be clear, Jason: We’ve got our foot on the gas, and we’re not letting up. The American people deserve to know if the Trump administration is going to attempt to stop their voices from being heard this November. This isn’t our only suit against the administration. Far from it. One more example: We’re also suing to stop President Trump’s new executive order that directs the federal government to build an eligible voter list for each state and instructs the US Postal Service not to return mail ballots for anyone who isn’t on this list. We have a hearing in that case today. While our legal team works every day to protect our nation's fundamental principles in court, the DNC is fighting back in every arena. We have organizers on the ground in battleground states registering new Democrats to vote. Teams of experts working to raise money and invest it where it matters most.
