“I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation. I don’t think about anybody.” Jason, can you guess whose mouth that statement came out of just seven days ago? If you guessed the president of the United States — you’d (unfortunately) be correct. If you’re fed up with the dictator-in-chief and are ready to join the DNC in the fight to hold him accountable and make him virtually powerless for the rest of his term, you can donate to help power our work here. But we hope you’ll keep reading to hear more from us on why you should chip in. To many of us, it’s always been crystal clear that Donald Trump has never cared, doesn’t care, and will never care about the people who make up this country unless their net worth has more than 10 digits. But statements like this are reaching his base, and his support is dropping among his own supporters. People across the country, regardless of political affiliation, are sick and tired of the status quo. They’re sick of corruption, they’re sick of endless wars, and they’re sick of that spike of stress they get every time they pay rent or buy groceries or fill up their gas tank. We’re sick of it too, Jason. That’s why we’re fighting every day, around the clock, to take this administration on from every possible angle. And it’s why we’re so excited to see so many Democratic candidates running on platforms of change and affordability — candidates like Sherrod Brown, Graham Platner, and Jon Ossoff are laser-focused on improving Americans’ financial situation. And recently elected Democrats like across the country continue to prove that real change is possible. Democrats in New York City balanced their budget while increasing funding for public libraries and universal childcare and lowering bus fares. Democrats in Virginia have passed bills to cap the cost of prescription drugs, lower Virginians’ energy bills, and provide paid family and medical leave statewide. And Democrats in New Jersey proposed a budget that would cut New Jersey’s deficit in half while making historic investments in affordability-focused programs, banned ICE from launching operations on state property, and joined lawsuits against federal tariffs driving up costs. This is what’s possible when we elect people who do care about Americans’ financial situations. If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly.
