I wanted to give you a quick update on When We Count, the Democratic Party’s program to register Democrats to vote in key states ahead of the midterms. Our first cohort of organizers just started on the ground in Arizona. We handpicked Arizona for a reason: It’s a battleground state that Trump won in 2024 with a closable voter registration gap. So we stepped up to close that gap. And, in just a few weeks, we’ll be expanding the program to register even more Democratic voters. The Democratic National Committee has a unique ability to make long-term investments in organizing that will help Democrats win for decades, not just the next two years. Since 2024, we’re already seeing record-breaking voter turnout and huge overperformances for Democrats across the country — proving that, when we talk to voters year-round, they show up. But here’s the thing Jason: we’re up against a GOP machine that has a $939 million war chest to spend on trashing Democrats over the airwaves and on social media. So it’s more important than ever that Democrats get out, meet people where they are, and out-organize our opponents.
