I try not to send a million fundraising emails and texts, but I wanted to take a few minutes to tell you about my important next steps — and why I hope you’re still with me in this fight.

Here's the truth:

We must not be duped into thinking our job will be done by getting rid of this guy when he leaves the White House.

We must be clear-eyed about what is going on in our country, and how our fight will continue.

We are witnessing an unapologetic assault on our Constitution and democracy from far-right extremists in Congress and in the courts.

They are implementing an agenda that has been decades in the making. The Callais redistricting decision, as far as I'm concerned, was about backdooring racism through the subject of politics.

Republicans’ rush to redraw districts is a politically motivated power grab meant to protect elected officials from their failure to make groceries, gas, health care, and housing more affordable for you and your family.

That is why I am so focused on investing in protecting voting rights now — so we can overwhelmingly elect leaders this November who will fight for us.

For my part, I have decided to return to Louisiana this summer to uplift Democrats and continue building our power in the South.

That is what I am doing next with Fight for The People PAC. I am going to travel, speak out, and help elect Democrats everywhere — and I cannot do this alone.
