But it’s important to remember that millions of Americans across the country will begin receiving their general election ballots this week.
Jason, people have already begun casting their ballots in this election. We cannot afford to slow down -- not for one moment. We only have 49 days to organize, mobilize, and fight to ensure we can finally say goodbye to the national nightmare we call Donald Trump.
Right now, six months into the coronavirus pandemic, Donald Trump still won’t take responsibility or act to protect the American people. In fact, we now know that he purposely downplayed the severity of the pandemic that has cost more than 190,000 Americans their lives -- all for political gain. Being president is about protecting the wellbeing of the American people, and, on that measure, Donald Trump has failed.
The choice in this election couldn’t be more clear. I’m proud to be running alongside Joe Biden, who has centered decency, empathy, and the values we share at the heart of our campaign. 2020 is going to be one of the most consequential elections of our lifetimes.
I truly believe that we are facing a choice between the light and the dark -- and I believe America will choose the light. But first, we need to win this battle.
