Jason --
I know it's hard to believe, but we just wrapped up our first quarter under the Biden-Harris administration -- and I'm in awe of what this team accomplished.
From getting vaccines in arms and checks in hands to restoring integrity in the White House and building a Cabinet that reflects -- and works on behalf of -- the American people, you stepped up in a major way and made this possible. And that is why I wanted to reach out to supporters like you directly.
We have a huge few months ahead of us, Jason: We're all in on championing President Biden's American Jobs Plan -- his bold plan to rebuild our infrastructure, create millions of jobs, tackle the climate crisis, and more. We're also going to continue to fight Republicans' attacks on voting rights and lay the critical, early groundwork for Democratic victories up and down the ballot.
But before we do that, I hope you'll take a minute to read about all we did together in the first quarter of 2021. Take a look:
Delivering Help Directly to Americans
The Biden-Harris administration passed the American Rescue Plan to help get money in pockets, vaccines in arms, and kids back in schools. Over 100 million vaccines and checks have already been distributed to folks across the country -- and President Biden set a new goal to get 200 million vaccines in arms by his 100th day in office.
This historic legislation provides Americans everywhere with the help they so desperately need, and our Democratic majorities in Congress passed it without a single affirmative vote from Republicans. Don't forget: You made these majorities possible as a dedicated member of this team.
Lifting Up Democratic Wins (and Holding Republicans Accountable)
While President Biden and Vice President Harris traveled the country spreading news about the American Rescue Plan, the DNC held Republicans accountable for their vote on the bill.
We put up ads and generated incredible coverage in local newspapers in states like Florida and Iowa, calling out senators who voted against the bill.
We organized volunteers and gave folks the resources they needed to call their own representatives and hold them accountable for voting "no"' on the bill.
Hell, we even put up a billboard in Times Square to make sure folks know that Help is Here, no thanks to a single Republican. And we've got a lot more up our sleeves.
Let me be clear, Jason: Promoting the American Rescue Plan as a Democratic win is one of the most important things we're doing right now. Every ad, positive story, and organizing touchpoint will have a significant impact on how folks feel about President Biden and our party heading into the midterms -- and we can only do it with your support.
Protecting the Right to Vote
After the horrible attacks on voting rights we saw in Georgia last week, I'm proud to say that we're continuing our work of protecting the right to vote for everyone, everywhere. We're working day and night to fight the onslaught of threats on folks' sacred right to vote.
From litigating cases in the highest court in the land to running a 24/7 voter protection hotline to placing organizers on the ground, we're doing everything we can to push back. But the very best thing we can do to protect the right to vote? Win back more state legislatures. And grassroots support is crucial to those efforts.
The Biden-Harris Founding Donor Fund
And we wrapped the quarter with a historic fundraising push -- where over 22,852 Democrats chipped in to become Biden-Harris Founding Donors. We're relying on support from this grassroots team to keep fighting for the administration's agenda, holding Republicans accountable, protecting the right to vote, and so much more. So, I wanted to ask:
Will you make your first donation to the Biden-Harris Founding Donor Fund today? Whatever you're able to give will go a long way in electing Democrats in 2021, 2022, and beyond.
None of this would have been possible without the support of folks like you. From volunteering to donating to speaking out about what's important to us as Democrats -- the power of this grassroots team never ceases to amaze me.
Rest assured, there is still a lot of work to be done, Jason. But I am so grateful to have folks like you in the fight with us. Never forget: Our cause is righteous, our team is strong, and thanks to you, we can get even stronger.
