Jason, I'm reaching out to you today to celebrate Congresswoman-elect Melanie Stansbury's victory in NM-01.
Keeping seats like this blue -- and electing passionate Democrats like Melanie -- is going to be critical in the months ahead. So, I hope you'll give me a second to tell you more about Melanie's race, and how the DNC and this grassroots team helped her win.
Melanie was a great candidate focused on the issues that matter most to New Mexico's working families: addressing food and housing insecurity, fighting to protect and expand health care, tackling climate change, and so much more. And the DNC helped get her message directly to voters who ultimately elected her to Congress. Here's how:
- Thousands of members of this team signed up to learn how to makes calls to voters -- making tens of thousands of phone calls and having thousands of conversations with voters in Melanie's district!
- We also made sure that we were reaching out to folks through texts, too. Y'all sent tens of thousands of text messages to voters, informing them of critical voting information!
- Last but certainly not least: Thousands of members of this grassroots team donated directly to Melanie's campaign! Those donations were crucial to getting her campaign's message out and mobilizing voters to the polls in the final weeks of the election.
President Biden and Democrats like Melanie are offering a bold agenda to build our country back better, delivering on that promise, and getting our country back on track. It's an easy choice for the American people between them and Republicans -- as long as we continue to get the word out about Democrats' good work.
To do that, we must keep investing early in on-the-ground organizing, the best data and tech, and protecting the right to vote. But it won't come cheap. We're relying on this team to keep stepping up to the plate so Democratic candidates have the support they need to take their message to voters, get folks to the polls, and win seats.
Will you pitch in $7 to the DNC today to help candidates in all 50 states, territories, and D.C. continue to win in the years ahead? Whatever you're able to contribute now, early on, will go a long way come 2022 and 2024.
Thanks for being on this team, Jason. It means a lot.
