The evidence is clear: The American Rescue Plan is working.
For the first time since March of 2020, the unemployment rate is below 5%. We've created more jobs in President Biden's first eight months in office than any other president in history. And in the past three months, the number of long term unemployed has decreased by 1.3 million -- the largest three-month decline since 1948.
But Jason, there's still plenty to do. Getting more folks vaccinated is critical to getting more people back to work and helping our economy recover.
President Biden's vaccination requirements have already helped cut the rate of unvaccinated Americans by one-third. Over 3 in 4 eligible Americans have at least their first shot, and more than 188 million people are fully vaccinated.
To meet this moment, it is critical that Congress passes the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal and the rest of the Biden-Harris Build Back Better agenda.

The American Rescue Plan at work
Today, millions of families will receive a monthly check as a part of the expanded Child Tax Credit.
These credits will help parents cover monthly expenses, pay for school supplies, and importantly, deliver some much-needed peace of mind. They are also projected to help cut the child poverty rate in half.
President Biden and Vice President Harris are continuing to prioritize families and invest in this nation's future. This is all thanks to Democrats everywhere who stood together and passed the American Rescue Plan without a single Republican vote.
