Jason, did you hear the news? President Biden recently authorized a transfer of $15 million from the Democratic National Committee to bolster our party's House and Senate campaign committees -- and has been working to get more staff and funding to defend and expand on our governors' seats.
This is the largest cash transfer for a midterm election -- ever. And it comes after a historic year for our party. In 2021, the DNC invested:
- $20 million ahead of the 2022 midterms, paying special attention to voter protection, distributed organizing, and getting communication embeds on the ground in key states.
- $23 million in state parties as part of our midterm strategy, creating a first-of-its-kind program called the Red State Fund, which gets more resources to historically red states.
- $25 million in voter education, protection, registration, and technology to make voting more accessible. Plus, our 'I Will Vote' initiative will address and overcome GOP-led efforts to make voting more difficult.
- Nearly $5 million in voter registration programs, prioritizing outreach to communities of color -- it's the DNC's largest commitment to voter registration in a midterm cycle and will focus specifically on battleground states.
Our party is all in on protecting and expanding our majority in this year's midterms -- and that starts with making significant investments in Senate, House, and down-ballot races nationwide. This grassroots team made all of these investments possible, Jason, but with Election Day right around the corner, our job is far from over.
Donations made early in the election cycle will have a much larger impact than those made in the weeks and days ahead of Election Day. Why? Because we'll have the time to invest our resources strategically -- develop relationships in communities nationwide, fight GOP voter suppression efforts as they come, and build our organizing capacity.
Join the fight and make a $7 donation to the DNC so that our party has the resources it needs to continue uplifting Democrats running for office nationwide.
We can't leave anything up to chance this November. Thank you for all that you do to support Democrats, today and every day.
Sam
