Yesterday, a conservative majority on the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade -- reversing nearly 50 years of precedent and undoing the constitutional right to have an abortion.
In its simplest terms, Roe v. Wade protects a woman's right to make decisions about her own body. Bodily autonomy and self-determination are critical proof points of liberty, and the Supreme Court's decision is nothing short of a direct assault on freedom.
This attack will have immediate and generational consequences, Jason. Thirteen states will ban abortion within a month now that Roe is overturned, and only time will show us how much further Republicans are willing to go.
In moments like this, it's up to the people to raise our voices and say enough is enough.
Today, it could not be clearer which party wants to protect our rights and which party wants to restrict them. It's more important than ever that we defend and expand our Democratic congressional majorities. A donation of $7 helps the DNC work to elect Democrats in every ZIP code. Can we count on your support?
Yours in the fight,
Ofirah
