Make no mistake, Jason: The Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade was the result of a decades-long campaign by Republicans to strip Americans of the right to choose. We must fight back against Republican abortion bans with no exceptions for rape or incest and fight back against Republican lawmakers making clear that if they gain power, they could work to ban abortion nationally. Our party hosted a national volunteer strategy call with Vice President Kamala Harris, made tens of thousands of calls to support voter registration efforts, and kicked off a national volunteer text campaign. The DNC has more than 200,000 trained volunteers, and we are putting this virtual volunteer corps to work ahead of critical midterm elections this November. In states like Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, the DNC funds on-the-ground staff focused on communications, organizing, data, voter protection, and coalitions that will support Democrats. Through targeted investments in battleground states, the DNC is focused on mobilizing the voters central to Democrats' paths to victory. Paid media and voter registration Just today, the DNC released a digital ad across eight battleground states to show that Republicans are making it clear that they want to ban abortion nationally if they gain control. This cycle, the DNC has already made seven-figure radio and print buys in Black, Latino, and AAPI media outlets. Our party also funded voter registration and education programs in states like Florida and Arizona, where electing Democratic governors and attorneys general can serve as a backstop against GOP efforts to restrict abortion access even further.
