Tom Homan has long had a pattern of issuing threats that he does not have the right or ability to carry through.
He has threatened to put me in jail if we resisted or opened investigations. So we need to know who we’re dealing with here.
The fact of the matter is, New York City already has sanctuary laws on the books that say that if someone commits a crime, they have to go through our system.
If ICE wants to go in, they have to do so using their own resources.
That is a bright red line in the law that we are all required to adhere to.
The law doesn’t change if you threaten it.
The law doesn’t change if you stomp your feet about it.
We all have to respect it.
We do not have to comply with illegal activity — even if that illegal activity is coming directly from the President of the United States and his cronies in the administration.
