Thursday night, Joe Biden announced our last end-of-month fundraising goal of the campaign: we need to raise $100 million by October 31.
This goal is the most we've ever asked of this grassroots team because it's the real amount of resources we need to boost voter turnout and win 270 electoral college votes on November 3rd. We did the math, and this is our best shot.
But we need to level with you, Jason: right now, we aren't on track to hit our goal.

Jason, thanks to grassroots donors like you, we've been able to run ads and voter outreach programs in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin -- states that Donald Trump won by the skin of his teeth in 2016, and could very well decide the winner in 2020. But the resources we've raised so far have already been allocated and spent -- and there are still nine more days left to go.
That's why we're so worried about this sudden drop in donations, and why it's so important that we catch up by the end of the day.
Jason, the finish line is in sight. We really can win this battle for the soul of the nation, defeat Donald Trump, and elect Joe Biden. But it's going to take all of us doing our part over these final days.
