As a self-professed data enthusiast, I love charts, graphs, and models. So, after a couple of election cycles at the DNC watching the same pattern play out, I came up with a "good, better, best" scenario. Here's what I mean: When you donate right before Election Day, that is good. Those contributions support last-minute investments in key states so we can reach as many Democrats as possible to get out the vote. But I'll be honest, Jason: Every time I see these donations come in, it always leaves me wondering, "How much more could we have done with that donation if we got it a year ago?" See, one-time contributions made more than a year out from the midterms are better. They help fund the early organizing, voter protection, and state party programs -- laying a really important foundation for our candidates to ultimately win.
