Republicans in my home state of Georgia and nationwide are proving that they're willing to go to any length to disenfranchise voters, Jason.
Earlier this week, the Georgia State Board of Elections announced their plans to appoint a performance review panel to investigate Fulton County's handling of elections -- a county that they even admitted conducted a successful election just last year.
Let's set the record straight: All the GOP is doing here is injecting partisan politics into how our elections are run -- and we cannot let it stand.
The DNC is already running a nationwide voter protection hotline, litigating cases against bad anti-voter bills, and organizing in every community to fend off Republican attacks on the right to vote. According to our records, you've yet to pitch in to support our largest voter protection initiative ever.
Please rush a $7 gift, or whatever you can, to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund today. Your donation will help protect the right to vote and elect Democrats up and down the ticket for years to come.
There have been more than 400 anti-voter bills introduced in state legislatures just this year -- and what is going on in Georgia is just one example of what happens when these bills become law.
I believe that democracy is built on optimism -- that even when we sometimes get it wrong, there's an opportunity for people to go back to the polls and try to get it right. But that thinking couldn't be more different than the Republican playbook. They're putting all of their proverbial eggs in the voter suppression basket -- because they believe that when fewer Americans vote, they'll win.
Nothing short of our democracy is on the line, so it's going to take all of us -- you, me, and this entire grassroots team -- coming together and committing to this fight.
Will you make a $7 donation to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund today to help fight voter suppression and elect Democrats nationwide? Anything you're able to contribute will go a long way in protecting our fundamental right to vote.
More soon,
Keisha
