Voters in New Jersey just made history by sending my friend Phil Murphy back to the governor's mansion -- marking the first time a Democratic governor has won reelection in the Garden State since 1977. This race was a close one. So I wanted to take a moment to share a little about how we got here, and then ask you to make a $7 donation to help keep our foot on the gas heading into 2022.
With your support, the DNC made historic investments in New Jersey -- and it's clear we need to invest even more nationwide to turn up the pressure even higher on the GOP heading into next year. Here's what we accomplished this year in New Jersey:
-
Expanded voter education and turnout efforts for voters of color, including multi-lingual outreach to mobilize the state's growing Spanish-speaking and AAPI populations.
-
Mobilized thousands of national volunteers who took part in the 2020 election to support campaigns through volunteer recruitment, voter education, and get out the vote efforts.
-
Ran a nonstop voter protection effort to expand access to early vote and protect the vote, including polling place lookup tools, access to our national voter protection hotline, and a database for incident tracking and monitoring.
The one good thing about winning races with this slim of a margin is that we know that every voter called or texted, door knocked, or dollar donated made a real difference. This win didn't happen by accident! And I want to thank this team for investing early. Your hard work paid off, Jason.
But I also need you to know that our work is far from over. This race was closer than we would've liked, and it's proof that we must be more than prepared heading into 2022. We can't afford to slow down now, with the House, the Senate, and governors' mansions across the country all on the line. So I have to ask:
Will you rush a $7 donation to the DNC now to make sure Democrats are set up to compete and win everywhere in 2022 and beyond?
Thank you for your continued support -- it means a lot.
