Folks, one year ago, Americans spoke. They chose unity over division. They chose truth over lies. They won an enduring battle for the soul of the nation. They delivered Kamala and me a clear victory -- a victory won with the most votes ever cast for a presidential ticket in the history of this country.
They say victory has a thousand parents, but in this case it was 6 million -- our grassroots team of more than 6 million supporters. You powered us to victory with whatever donation, phone call, text, or yard sign that you could. I am humbled by the trust and confidence you placed in me and Kamala, but also by the trust you placed in our vision.
You believed that we could build our country back better than ever before, and now we're doing the hard work of making it a reality. We're fighting for policies to restore the soul of our nation, strengthen the backbone of America -- the middle class -- and unite our country. I couldn't be more proud of it.
That is why, one year out from our historic victory, I am asking you to dig deep. I need you to commit to this work -- because building back better takes more than just a single election.
It'll take electing more Democrats up and down the ballot all across the nation to get our country back on track. The DNC is already hard at work hiring the organizing staff, running the voter protection programs, investing in state parties, and more to support Democratic candidates everywhere. So, I have to ask:
To honor our shared victory -- and to make an early investment in the many more victories this team has in it -- will you make a $7 donation to the DNC today?
Jason, I am amazed by how much we've already accomplished together. Right off the bat, we passed the American Rescue Plan to set us on the path toward recovery. Then, just this week, the House passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act -- a once-in-generation bipartisan infrastructure bill that will create millions of jobs, turn the climate crisis into an opportunity, and put us on a path to win the economic competition for the 21st century.
And I'm also proud that a rule was voted on that will allow for passage of the Build Back Better Act in the House the week of November 15. This landmark legislation will make child care, health care, and elder care more affordable. Together, we'll get people back to work, and build an economy that works for everyone.
We've accomplished a heck of a lot already, but it's just the start of what we can do. That's why I have to ask: Will you donate $7 to the DNC today? Whatever you're able to give will go a long way in electing more Democrats ready to build on the progress we've made so far in the next few years.
Thanks for all you've done and continue to do, Jason. We're on our way to building our country back better, one day at a time.
Joe
Joseph R. Biden Jr.
President of the United States
