An essential component to building back better is expanding access to good, affordable health care. That's why the Biden-Harris agenda invests in this nation's health care infrastructure -- from making prescription drugs more affordable, to investing in maternal health, to distributing COVID-19 vaccines nationwide.
Dr. Lee Savio Beers, president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, recently sat down with a few of America's youngest eligible vaccine recipients to answer their questions about the COVID-19 vaccine. Take a few minutes to watch, and then read on for more White House updates →
Maternal Health Day of Action
The White House hosted its first ever Maternal Health Summit earlier this week. Vice President Kamala Harris issued a nationwide call to action to help improve health outcomes for parents and infants in the United States.
The administration announced new commitments to support safe pregnancies and childbirth, and reduce complications and mortality in the year following birth. This means:
-
Encouraging states to expand postpartum coverage from 60 days to 12 months through their Medicaid programs
-
Creating a new designation of the quality of maternal health services for our nation's hospitals
-
Investing $3 billion in maternal health after the Build Back Better Act becomes law

One in four Americans who take prescription drugs struggle to pay for them. It doesn't have to be that way.

Economy update
Since January, the economy has added a record 5.9 million new jobs, and unemployment has fallen from 6.3% to 4.2% -- the fastest single-year drop ever.
Americans are getting back to work. President Biden's plan for the economy is working -- and the proof is in the numbers.
NEW items at the Democrats' Official Store
The right to vote is under threat across the country. This year alone, we've seen at least 19 states enact 33 anti-voter laws. Our party has already committed $25 million to protecting the right to vote, but Democrats nationwide need your support as they take on these Republican-sponsored attacks.
A humble request
The year is coming to a close, and as we prepare for the 2022 midterms, our party is relying on the support of this grassroots community to continue building back better.
Losing just one seat in the Senate or five in the House will put President Biden's agenda in jeopardy. Republicans know this -- and that is why they're going to throw everything they've got at Democrats to take back power. The fight to hold our majorities won't be easy, but we're no strangers to a challenge.
Please, chip in $15 -- or whatever you can afford -- to the DNC today. Anything you contribute will be used to support Democrats running for office nationwide.
