Jason -- when I came on as DNC chair back in 2009, we were coming off of a historic election cycle for Democrats and running up on important elections in Virginia. You may remember what happened next.
Republicans won the Virginia elections and Democrats went on to lose 63 House seats in the 2010 midterms. Now, we know that we can't let that happen this time around. We can make new history, Jason.
There's still time to make early, historic investments to build up our party infrastructure to make sure Democrats can compete and win everywhere in 2022. But the DNC is counting on the full backing of this team -- including you -- to help fund critical organizing staff, voter protection programs, and more. So I'm asking:
Will you make a $7 donation to the DNC today to help fund the investments that will protect and expand our Democratic majorities in the upcoming midterm elections?
After we lose an election, our party has no time for despair. We have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and get right back to work doubling down on our efforts. Our party is doing exactly that: putting more organizers on the ground, getting our message out there to ensure voters know that Democrats are working to lower costs for working families by ensuring the wealthiest Americans and corporations pay their fair share in taxes.
If we keep this up, we can win next year. It'll require Democrats working together to build a tough-as-nails party right now -- not in the weeks or months immediately before the election -- to write this new history.
It won't be easy, but it'll be worth it. So please, make a $7 donation to the DNC today to elect Democrats in all 50 states, the territories, and D.C.
Thanks for your support,
Tim
