I'm a proud Georgian, Jason -- the Peach State is where I was born, where I earned my law degree, and where I served as mayor of the great city of Atlanta. But voting rights in states like Georgia and across the country are being attacked, and I'm fed up.
Last year, the Republican-controlled state legislature in Georgia passed a ruthless anti-voter bill that would make it more difficult to vote by mail and criminalize passing out water to voters waiting in long lines.
We can't allow these blatant attacks on voting rights to go unanswered, Jason. We need to stop them, and the DNC is working to do exactly that.
Will you make a $7 donation to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund today? Whatever you're able to give will make a big difference in our fight to defend our democracy and elect Democrats nationwide.
The GOP believes that if fewer Americans vote, they'll be able to gain power. So in Georgia and other states across the country, Republican lawmakers are trying to restrict voting rights as much as possible. But here's how the DNC is fighting back:
-
Running a nonstop voter protection and education effort: Democrats are ramping up the number of voter protection staff we have on the ground, helping folks find their polling place, running a national voter protection hotline, actively monitoring and tracking incidents on the ground, and more.
-
Working with every state to build out voter protection programming: In states without voter protection staff, DNC staff work to customize scalable plans that meet the specific needs of their state, allowing us to be an active participant in state voting rights battles and serve as a critical tool for our state party partners.
-
Expanding our voter and multilingual outreach: The DNC is expanding robust voter education and coordinated events for voters of color across states, including multilingual outreach to mobilize growing Spanish-speaking and AAPI populations.
The DNC is the only party organization tasked with electing Democrats at every level of government in every ZIP code. That means we're uniquely positioned to tackle the GOP's ongoing attacks on the right to vote. To keep it up, we need your support, Jason.
So please, make a $7 donation to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund today so that we can continue our work fighting back against Republican voter suppression efforts, protect our democracy, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot who are committed to doing the same in the months and years to come.
Thank you,
Keisha
