In a few weeks, Texas will hold its first major election since the state's sweeping anti-voter law went into effect last year.
Republican-sponsored S.B. 1 limits vote by mail and bans drive-through and overnight early voting.
The Texas Democratic Party's voter protection team is running a strong education campaign to get more vote-by-mail applications accepted -- and the DNC is working alongside them to run a voter protection hotline, provide state of the art data and technology tools, and more to beat back the GOP's attacks nationwide. But our efforts to protect voters in Texas and nationwide require your full support.
Will you make a $7 donation to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund today to help protect the right to vote and elect more Democrats nationwide who will do the same?
Texas is not the only state that is being impacted by these bad, anti-voter bills, Jason. Last year alone, state lawmakers passed 34 laws in 19 states making it harder for folks to cast their ballot. That's why it is so critical that our party is investing earlier than ever before to defend our democracy and protect the right to vote. This includes:
-
A nonstop voter protection and education effort: Democrats are ramping up the number of voter protection staff we have on the ground, helping folks find their polling place, running a national voter protection hotline, actively monitoring and tracking incidents on the ground, and more.
-
Expanded voter and multi-lingual outreach: The DNC is expanding robust voter education and coordinated events for voters of color across states, including multi-lingual outreach to mobilize growing Spanish-speaking and AAPI populations.
-
Distributed organizing capacity: The DNC mobilized thousands of the national volunteers who took part in the 2020 election to also support the New Jersey and Virginia coordinated campaigns through volunteer recruitment, voter education, and early get out the vote efforts.
We can only keep these programs running with your support. There's never been a more important time to chip in, Jason, so I'm asking:
Will you rush a $7 donation to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund today? Whatever you can afford to give will make a big difference in our fight to defend our democracy and elect Democrats nationwide.
Thanks for being a part of this,
Reyna
