Instead of working for the American people, the GOP is trying to scheme their way into taking back power. Look no further than what is happening in Florida, Georgia, and Texas:
Last month, the Republican-controlled Florida legislature established so-called "election police" to waste taxpayer dollars on a problem that doesn't exist. Texas's Republican attorney general formed an "election integrity unit." And just last week, the Georgia legislature passed a bill that gives the state's bureau of investigation -- an entity with no expertise in elections or voting -- jurisdiction over election crimes.
Jason, let's be clear: The GOP is taking further action to undermine our democracy by trying to intimidate voters and sowing doubt in our electoral process.
To combat these attacks, our party is running a nationwide voter protection program that tracks incidents of voter suppression, trains voter protection staff on the ground, takes unjust laws to court, and more. With midterm elections this fall, we can only expect the GOP to ramp up their efforts -- which means we need to ramp up ours as well.
Democrats like you keep the DNC's voter protection programs funded. Chip in $7 to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund today to help our party protect the right to vote and hold the GOP accountable.
Republicans have been making false claims about the 2020 election ever since Donald Trump lost to President Biden, and over the past year, Republican lawmakers in state legislatures nationwide have introduced hundreds of bills with provisions that would restrict access to the ballot box.
We must stop this GOP-led anti-voter campaign in its tracks immediately, Jason. Your $7 donation to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund will allow Democrats to continue that work and make a huge difference as we approach critical elections this November.
Thank you for all that you do to support Democrats and protect our democracy.
