Jason, my name is Nellwyn Thomas, and I'm the Chief Technology Officer at the DNC. As I'm sure you know, thousands of Democrats are running for office in elections up and down the ballot, and they only have a limited amount of time to grow their campaigns strong enough to win this November.
Democratic candidates from school boards to the Senate need every ounce of help they can get to reach voters and get them to the polls -- and that's where the DNC's Tech team comes in.
At the DNC, my team is helping to provide centralized infrastructure, data, tools, and technical and cybersecurity expertise to Democratic campaigns. That's made almost entirely possible by the generosity of grassroots donors like you. So, if you're able to chip in and support our work to provide campaigns and state parties with critical tech infrastructure, make a donation of $7 today.
The Email team mentioned to me that you all appreciate behind-the-scenes looks at work like this, so I wanted to share this memo to give you a more granular look at what my team is working on:
FROM: Nellwyn Thomas, Chief Technology Officer TO: DNC Leadership MEMO: We're Bringing Advanced Data Infrastructure to Thousands of Midterm Campaigns We've overhauled our infrastructure and our approach to data: Individual campaigns and committees shouldn't have to spend time and money to build their own databases and analytics tools, which is why we're supplying them with both for free! Campaigns can now work directly with the DNC to leverage our database and software to fine-tune their outreach to voters. Our data is more accurate, complex, and accessible: - DNC investments have increased the number of voters for whom we have cell phone numbers -- we now have numbers for 70 percent of voters -- making it even easier for state parties and campaigns to reach voters directly.
- We also have more high-quality lists of unregistered voters -- including more than 10M potential new voters.
- Last but not least, our data is updated more frequently than in years past, so campaigns have the freshest data possible, meaning that campaigns have a better idea of who has recently registered (or purged from the voter rolls)!
Expert staff and support for our Democratic community: Democratic campaigns can now work with a dedicated team of analysts on the DNC Tech team, whose job is to support state parties, sister committees, and campaigns across the nation. You shouldn't need a degree in data science or computer engineering to run a powerful, data-informed ground game. Thanks to long-term investments made by our Tech team -- campaigns can lean on us for guidance and support. |
The resources the DNC provides to candidates and state parties are an integral component of their success this year. We're relying on the grassroots commitment from supporters like you to fund these resources.
Will you chip in $7 to the DNC today and ensure Democrats in all 50 states, the territories, and D.C. have everything they need to win this year? Critical tech infrastructure, data, and tools like the ones above are only possible with the support of folks like you.
Cheers,
Nellwyn
