Jason, I might be Joe Biden's campaign manager now, but I'm always an organizer at heart. So when people ask me how we're going to win this election, the first thing I tell them is just that -- organizing.
And there's nothing more important to me, to this campaign, and to Vice President Biden and Senator Harris than all of you. So I'm excited to explain our path to victory one more time today, and then if you can, I hope you'll pitch in $15 to fund our strategy to win this thing. Our race has always centered on an exceptional candidate. Voters are looking for steady leadership, experience, empathy, compassion, and character -- and they'll find all of these qualities in Vice President Joe Biden. This has been our argument since day one of this campaign, and it will be our winning argument in November.
We've also had an opportunity to introduce a Joe Biden that a lot of voters had not met before, his personal story of resilience and his leadership in building back our economy once before, have solidified a winning message that appeals to voters across the country.
And together, we've built a campaign for anyone who's ever been knocked down or counted out. And we've raised a truly bonkers amount of resources thanks to grassroots donors like you.
Your support will fund our path to winning the 270 electoral college votes we need to beat Trump on November 3rd. I've sent a similar map to you before, but I want to show it to you one last time: Here's what I see when I look at this graphic, Jason. We have a map with more paths to victory for Joe Biden than Donald Trump, and these highlighted states are our path to winning the 270 electoral college votes we need to win. In fact, we're competing in more states than any presidential campaign I've been a part of, starting back in 2000.
What I don't see when I look at this map are the double-digit leads you might be hearing about online. Here's the honest truth: those are inflated national public polling numbers. This race is going to be incredibly close in the battleground states.
So we're not taking a single vote for granted. We've hired hundreds of organizers and other staff members in battleground states across the country. We've empowered thousands of volunteers and made millions of voter contacts.
And we're also not taking your support for granted either, Jason. I wanted to share a breakdown of how we've used your hard-earned dollars so far, and what we still have left to do. Take a look at our current budget: These are the key things we've had to do in unprecedented times: reach voters through paid advertising, train thousands of volunteers on how to speak with their neighbors in brand-new ways, keep everyone safe, and prepare for whatever voter suppression tactics Donald Trump throws our way. Thanks to you, we've been able to grow each of these programs like never before.
But now, with just 17 days left to go, we still have so much work to do. Believe it or not, voters are still making up their minds about who to support, and even more are trying to figure out how to vote in the middle of a public health crisis. We still have to reach these voters, and we haven't raised the funds to do that yet. Here's what our budget projections tell us we need to raise, and exactly what you'll fund if you chip in your next $15 right now: To every single person who has already given to this campaign, I want you to know how grateful we are to have your support. Thanks to you, we've built the campaign that will defeat Donald Trump and elect Joe Biden. But our work isn't done yet.
We still have 17 days left, and we can't let off the gas yet. I know it's a lot to ask, so please know I'm only asking if you are able:
Jason, if you can pitch in anything at all today -- whether that's $15 or whatever you can spare -- will you chip in again to make sure we win this thing? If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: | | Jason, you are the most essential part of this movement, and I'm so grateful to have you on this team and proud to stand with you as we continue this fight to restore the soul of our nation.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: we can do hard things. And in just over two weeks, we're going to win this thing.
All my best,
Jen
