September is a big end-of-quarter fundraising month for campaigns, so we’re guessing your inbox might be overflowing with panicky emails.
It’s sad how so many campaigns treat their supporters like ATMs — especially before FEC deadlines.
We are committed to treating you and other supporters with respect. That means we follow some (we think!) pretty basic rules:
- YES to sharing volunteer opportunities and emergency funds, supporting progressive candidates, providing informative content, petitions that go to someone that can actually act on them, and if you can afford to chip in, respectfully asking for your donation.
- NO to panicky subject lines, fear mongering, fake donor matches, clickbait petitions, or basically any tactic that makes you want to hit the “report spam” button.
We’re not going to beg, scare, or guilt-trip you into donating.
If today’s not the day for you to give, that’s completely okay, too. We’re glad you’re a part of this movement no matter what.
