We are officially in an election year. And with our slim majorities in Congress, I've found myself thinking about how we're not only going to hold onto both chambers but also make gains come November.
I hope you'll give me a chance to walk through a few maps, highlight our opportunities to build up our majorities, and then, if you're able, chip in $7 to the DNC today.
OK, first things first: We must protect our Democratic incumbents this year -- especially in the Senate. If we don't, we run the risk of McConnell and McCarthy regaining power and putting the entire Biden-Harris agenda on the line. Just one Senate seat and five House seats stand between us and that scenario, so we're investing early in states like Nevada, New Hampshire, Arizona, and Georgia to keep them blue.
Up next, and my personal favorite, are states where we have an opportunity to expand the map for Democrats by flipping seats at the top of the ticket (and subsequently down the ballot, too). Think Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Florida, just to name a few. These opportunities are a huge force multiplier for our investments, because they give us the chance to lift Democrats to victory in multiple races.
And then you have your red states like South Carolina, Louisiana, Iowa, and more. We know that no state is a red state if we invest early enough, so the DNC is making critical investments through the Red State Fund to help Democrats flip seats up and down the ballot from red to blue.
The DNC is already running important, expensive voter mobilization and protection programs to build on our majorities this year -- and we're relying on grassroots supporters like you to ramp up these efforts ahead of Election Day.
Will you make a $7 donation to the DNC today to ensure that Democratic candidates all across the country have what they need to compete and win in 2022 and beyond?
Thank you,
Patrick
