Two-thirds of America's eligible population voted in 2020, the highest percentage in decades. Millions of young people voted. Millions of people of color voted. As President Biden has said, it was the greatest demonstration of democracy in the history of this country.
In response, Republicans at the state level are passing laws that make it harder for folks to cast their ballot. Why? Because they know their ideas are not in line with the will of the people. The GOP is afraid, Jason -- afraid of the power of voters like you and me.
The DNC is on the front lines pushing back against this anti-voter campaign. As we head into 2022, we need to make sure our party is at its strongest yet. Consider making a $7 donation to the Voter Protection Fund today so that Democrats have the resources they need to keep fighting.
When I say the DNC is fighting back, I don't mean that figuratively. Our party is already investing resources nationwide to ensure the right to vote is protected. Just take a look:
-
A nonstop voter protection and education effort: Democrats are ramping up the number of voter protection staff we have on the ground, helping folks find their polling place, running a national voter protection hotline, actively monitoring and tracking incidents on the ground, and more.
-
Expanded voter and multi-lingual outreach: The DNC expanded robust voter education and coordinated events for voters of color across states, including multi-lingual outreach to mobilize growing Spanish-speaking and AAPI populations.
-
Distributed organizing capacity: The DNC mobilized thousands of the national volunteers who took part in the 2020 election to also support the New Jersey and Virginia coordinated campaigns through volunteer recruitment, voter education, and early get out the vote efforts.
State lawmakers have already passed 34 laws in 19 states making it harder for folks to cast their ballot, and the midterms are historically more challenging for the party in power. That's why it is so critical that our party is on the ground now -- earlier than ever before -- educating folks about voting and Democrats' accomplishments.
Jason: Make a $7 donation to the DNC's Voter Protection Fund today. Anything you contribute will be put straight to work protecting the right to vote and helping elect Democrats nationwide.
Thank you,
