When I say that grassroots supporters like you powered the Democratic National Committee's work, I really mean it, Jason. Here's proof:
-
In 2021, 1 million people donated to the DNC. That's the largest number of donors who have ever given to the DNC in a non-election year.
-
Over 2.65 million grassroots contributions were made in 2021 -- more than any year on record except for 2020 and 2004.
-
99% of all of the gifts made to the DNC were $200 and under. 99%! And our average online gift was $23!
-
61% of our supporters are women, with the most common occupation being teachers.
That's pretty astounding, and what it highlights for me is your $3, $5, or $7 donation is a real building block for our party's foundation. See, individual contributions aren't just about the dollar amount. They're markers of your level of investment in this fight, and by that metric, we're in pretty good shape.
So, if you can, will you chip in $7 to the DNC today? As we gear up for the midterms in just a few short months, your contribution will allow our party to plan and invest strategically, while there's still time.
There's no doubt that holding onto our slim majorities and picking up a few seats along the way will be a challenge this year. But we know what we need to do to win -- we showed that last cycle when we took back the Senate and the White House.
The results we see on November 8 will be determined in large part by the scale of our investments now, and that's exactly why the DNC needs your support.
If I could impart one message today, it would be that it really doesn't take a big donation to make a difference in this fight. It just takes a lot of folks chipping in what they can, when they can to safeguard our progress and elect more Democrats up and down the ballot.
I hope you'll chip in $7 to the DNC today. As a grassroots-powered organization, we're relying on your direct support to power the initiatives that will determine our outcomes in this year's midterms.
Thank you,
Patrick
